Green Initiatives
At Gyproc Malaysia, we are fully aware that the planet's future is in our hands. As a result, we are committed to limiting the environmental impact of our manufacturing processes, protecting our employee's health and safety and managing our business in a socially responsible manner. Various green initiatives have also been put in place not just as part of our products, but also within our internal production process.
We hope that with these actions we are able to pose as an exemplary model against which others in the building and construction industry may aspire to follow.
Gypsum is a word originating from the Greek language, meaning chalk, or plaster. It has been used for over 10,000 years to construct and decorate all kinds of habitats and environments.
At its core, gypsum is a soft, rock-like mineral made of calcium sulphate dehydrate and can be found within the earth's crust. Today, gypsum can be found anywhere and everywhere. It has become a vital element of our day-to-day lives. This is due to its non-toxic, inert and harmlessness towards the surrounding environment and the people in said environment.
Furthermore, gypsum is indoor air quality friendly accordance with the ASTM D5-116 Standard and is naturally fire resistant which makes it ideal for indoor construction.
Gyproc® drywalls are eco-friendly because when they are placed within the cavity of a partition or wall, they make excellent indoor regulators with to their low thermal conductivity. Stone wool can also be filled within this cavity to enhance thermal performance. This is a much needed feature when dealing with the humidity and heat surrounding a country like Malaysia as it helps keep the room temperature stable and reduces the need for constant air-conditioning.
All Gyproc® products are IBS (Industrialised Building Systems) certified for the following:
Our manufacturing processes from start to finish are conducted in manners and methods which are energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly. These manufacturing processes:
